Boss’ Daughter Casts Vote for… Patrick?

LAKE CITY–Kaylee Curry, 11, admitted to her father today that she had cast her vote for It’s Time To… party candidate Patrick.

Kaylee Curry: loyalty tempered by pragmatism

What makes this story newsworthy is that Kaylee’s dad is company president and incumbent candidate Gabriel.

According to election rules, family members of HUB employees have only one vote, which makes Kaylee’s choice that much more startling.

Gabriel was philosophical about the apparent disloyalty of someone so close to his heart. “I don’t take this personally,” the You’re the Boss party leader said. “It’s not about rebellion; I know my daughter loves her daddy more than anything. She definitely would have voted for me if she thought I stood a chance of winning. She just wanted to get behind someone that she could help put over the top.”

Gabriel’s election bid has so far failed to catch fire. His performance in the polls has up until now been far behind Patrick’s, who has consistently held the third-place position for the majority of the Super Thursday primary season, behind Jonny and Samuel. The fact that even close family members are bailing on Gabriel’s campaign so early in the election does not bode well for the incumbent candidate.

For his part, Patrick was elated to learn he had peeled away such a symbolic vote to his campaign. “That is awesome!” said the former bull rider. “It just shows how well Gabriel has raised his kids so they could think for themselves and choose the best candidate.”

It was not known who the remaining Curry children, Alyssa and Michael, were supporting.

  1. Teddy Roosevelt’s daughter, Alice Longworth, was a free spirit as well. When someone once asked the president why he didn’t do more to reign in her flamboyant personality, he replied, “I can be President of the United States, or I can control Alice. I cannot possibly do both.”

  2. This is discouraging news. I say, dang the torpedoes–full speed ahead! Everybody out there, show your support for Gabriel!

  3. Patsy Bennefield says:

Thank you Kaylee for voting for my son Patrick! He is an amazing son and I’m so proud of him and his accomplishments. So anyone out there vote Patrick for “BOSS”.

  4. Dan Winsberg says:

It seems that no one at Hub Industrial noticed that Kaylee’s vote is illegal. According to the rules all voters “Must be at least 18 years old.” We need to call the election supervisor and the savings sherriff for a full investigation.

    • Dear Dan:
Thank you for your concern regarding the legality of Kaylee’s vote. For the benefit of all citizens of HUB nation, I will happily clarify this point of order.
There are no age restrictions on voting; the age restrictions only pertain to prize eligibility. Therefore, Kaylee and all other junior citizens who might be excluded from participation in other elections are freely welcome to vote in this important election. As a family member of a HUB employee, Kaylee is restricted to one vote, but otherwise there are no rules restricting junior citizens from voting once per day.
Prize eligibility is a little more restrictive. You must be over 18 to win a prize in the drawing; additionally HUB employees, their affiliates and immediate family members thereof are ineligible.
On behalf of the elections board, I encourage any citizen who observes what they believe to be voter fraud to voice their concerns either here or in private by contacting us at support@vote4HUB.com.
